Week 9
I went to the Python Code Dojo in Bristol last Wednesday. I had a lot of fun and met so many smart people! Katie told me about Code Golf, Coconut and Uiua. We decided on solving a Hashiwokakero puzzle. Everyone understood the problem quite quickly, it took me a little longer. I think I will improve if I continue solving more problems. I was able to contribute a few lines of code which felt really nice!
James, Umran and I participated in the Bath Hack this Saturday. We made PR Story, GitHub bot that comments on Pull Requests with images narrating the commit messages. I enjoyed working on it - though it did involve reading the GitHub documentation quite a bit. I almost gave up but Umran persisted and got the GitHub app working. Our demo was not the best as our image generation model running locally was taking 10 minutes to generate an image. Overall, it was great fun and very well organized.
I went up to different groups asking to see their hackathon projects! My favorite project was Bonnie Buddy. I believe it’s a malware mimicker. I love the design and the sound effects!
Submitted the coursework for Functional Programming. It’s about 300 lines of Haskell. Writing it didn’t feel like programming. It felt like translating the mathematics given in the coursework description to Haskell.
I bought a cap from H&M. It’s so sunny nowadays.
