Week 11

I completed the first half of Crafting Interpreters - very happy about this!

I visited Frome and Bristol this week. Frome is beautiful, very quiet and serene. I took the train to Bristol for both going and coming back, much more enjoyable than taking the bus. I recently found out that there are buses going to the City Centre quite frequently from near my house. I have been taking them now to go to the City Centre. Earlier I would walk 20 minutes each way.

I discovered that Tesco has small ready-made meals which can be heated in the microwave. Tesco Butter Chicken is extremely tasty. Relatively cheap as well at £6 for 2 meals, mix and match. Tried Monster Aussie Lemonade - great flavor, exceptional can design.

I want to wake up earlier than I do currently, which is at 9. I go to sleep around 12 and need 9 hours of sleep. I’m not going to reduce my sleep hours, but I’ll sleep earlier. I have ordered a lamp from IKEA to help with the evening night time routine. The overhead lights are too bright, I can’t lie on the bed with them on. And reading Kindle with dark mode in the dark feels depressing.

I moved my blog from Hugo to my own static site generator, a single Python file. I wanted to write blogs for my projects but wasn’t excited to look up Hugo’s documentation. I pleasantly surprised myself by getting the generator to work. Because I remember trying to write one a couple years ago and giving up - that’s progress!
