Week 16

I’m writing this on Monday. Databases exam is done. There is no way this exam was appropriate for a 2 hour duration. There was so much to write. I partially knew one or two questions but couldn’t write them for lack of time. 2 buses got cancelled while waiting in the queue today for the exam. Fortunately, I joined Carolina who called an Uber and we reached just in time.

I love the writing style in mathematics books. Where they say “We show this”, “We now conclude”. I love the “we” part. It’s like the writer and reader are on a journey together. I have been using a similar style in my academic writing so far.

Semester 1 is completed. I was thinking how busy the exam and revision periods were. It made me think about what I was doing with so much free time during the term-time. Mostly lectures, revising lectures and doing coursework. Software Engineering coursework took a lot of time.

I went to Specsavers to find new glasses but didn’t find anything nice. Also they’re quite expensive. But I definitely need a new pair, the current one has gotten loose.

I was looking at races to participate in, the Bath Half being sold out. Hmmmmm. Thinking. There’s one under the tunnel in Bath but feeling a bit scared about joining that. Also paying to run feels very weird, especially on a budget.

Tried playing Factorio but couldn’t figure out how to get started.
