Week 20

I spoke with Raheleh and Paola about dissertation ideas. They both seem open to new ideas apart from the ones they have proposed. I have browsed SIGPLAN and other journals to get some ideas but I don’t have anything interesting now. All I know at this point is that I would like to work in areas related to compilers. The dissertation’s time period is around 3 months and I would love to spend this time studying it. Of course, I need to create a proposal that is valuable academically - I can’t just work on something for the sake of it.

I met with Fabio as well and he suggested getting in touch with Julian and Willem.

Lectures are alright. Feeling quite alone these days. I signed up for Green Minds, which is a group activity organized by the university where we explore Bath’s outdoors. We went to Sham Castle on Saturday afternoon. It was a lot of fun - everyone was really nice! Emma and Aqida organized the outing and they were very friendly.

I love the burgers from Linda McCartney Foods. Didn’t train or run this week, maybe that’s why I’m not feeling too upbeat.
